Ardross Wildlife Weekend

Ardross Wildlife Weekend

Following on from our hugely successful April wildlife watch we have decided to run an autumn weekend. This is primarily to enjoy the things we are so lucky to live alongside, but it is also to log our findings and see as the season changes, so does the wildlife.

Saturday 15 & Sunday 16 November

As in April, it is a very relaxed event that you can do from your own home, or maybe whilst on a local walk. The only rule is you must have seen/heard it in the Ardross area. Sightings can be recorded at any time over the whole weekend so maybe keep a piece of paper handy.

Useful information to help you identify:

  • Merlin Bird ID App – Identifies bird songs, calls, and contact calls with high accuracy
  • www.birdspot.co.uk – interactive bid identifier
  • https://www.highland.gov.uk/download/downloads/id/433/highland_dragonfly_leaflet.pdf
  • https://www.nature.scot/plants-animals-and-fungi/mammals/land-mammals

Hopefully the weather will be dry so grab a cuppa, take a moment, look around and see what you can see  👀

To submit your results online:

Alternatively you could scan or take a picture of the completed form and send by email to Emma at chair@ardross.org. If anyone is not tech savvy, don’t worry, pen and paper is just as good and you could drop the completed form at the hall when you are passing next.

Obviously it would be impossible to list everything you might see, so if you see something that isn’t listed on the above form, use the ‘other’ marker at the end of each section.
