The first Sunday of Advent is always something special — a quiet beginning to the season, marked by the lighting of the very first candle. It’s a small flame, but it carries a gentle message: slow down, breathe, and make space for light again.
You are warmly invited to join us at Ardross ARK on 30th November, where the fire will be lit, the doors will be open, and the old church will offer a peaceful place to pause before December begins.
One of our lovely volunteers, Alison, will be there to welcome you, look after the space, and gently hold the peaceful atmosphere of the morning.
What the First Advent Candle SymbolisesThe first candle represents hope — not loud or dramatic hope, but the quiet kind that grows when we allow ourselves just a moment of stillness.
Lighting that candle reminds us that we can create small moments of light in our own lives, even in the busiest season.
You are welcome to light a candle during your visit —
and who knows, you may be the one who lights the first candle in our Advent wreath this year.
