SUMMARY:25th Anniversary Celebrations - Film Night at the Hall - Chicken Run
DESCRIPTION:Ardross Community Hall 25th Anniversary Celebrations \nChicken Run \nSaturday 13th September – Film at 3pm (doors at 2.30pm) \n\n\n\n\n\n\nA hugely popular film in 2000\, when our new hall was built. A family friendly film\, this engaging stop-motion\, \nClaymation adventure tells the story of an American rooster who falls in love with a gorgeous hen on a British farm. ‘Wallace and Gromit’ progenitor Nick Park’s first big screen outing is an animated pastiche of ‘The Great Escape’. Life on Tweedy’s Chicken Farm is far from pleasant for the inmates; they are badly treated by Mr Tweedy and his domineering wife\, and kept alive only as long as they keep producing eggs. Ginger\, the hen’s (voiced by Julia Sawalha) various attempts at escape have failed due to the lethargy and downright incompetence of her fellow prisoners\, but when Rocky (Mel Gibson) – the famous Flying Rooster – crash lands in the farm\, she sees the chance she has been waiting for: Rocky can teach everyone how to fly\, and they can stage a mass break-out! However\, the braggardly Rocky is not all he seems; can he really help Ginger and the others find freedom before Mrs Tweedy (Miranda Richardson) hatches her fowl plan to turn them all into chicken pies? \n\n\nTickets: £3.00 per child (adults go free). \nAll children must be accompanied by an adult. \nTickets are available at the door or online at Ticketsource – Ardross Community Hall \nRefreshments available for a small donation. Ice cream £2 \n*Prize for the best dressed chicken in the audience \n  \nFilm night at the hall is the second Saturday of each month.\nWe are grateful to Film Hub Scotland for the support they are giving us to get started. If you would like to be involved please approach one of the helpers at a film. \nWe would love to hear from you! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArdross Community Hall website \nArdross Community Hall Facebook page

SUMMARY:25th Anniversary Celebrations - Film Night at the Hall - Local Hero
DESCRIPTION:Ardross Community Hall 25th Anniversary Celebrations \nLocal Hero \nSaturday 13th September – Film at 7pm (doors at 6.30pm) \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAn American oil company has plans for a new refinery and sends someone to Scotland to buy an entire village\, but things don’t go as expected. A 1983 comedy-drama\, Bill Forsyth made an ecological tale full of charm and sensibility. He enjoys describing with a discreet and subtle humour the daily life of this Scottish village which seems to be virtually cut off from the outside world. Like the main protagonist\, a relaxed way of life that reigns in this fishing village gradually overcomes us\, as an invitation to the pleasure of the senses. Indeed\, Riegert enjoys the food he eats and the whisky he drinks: he is charmed by the beauty of the landscapes and what he finds by the seaside\, his collection of shells and especially the rare phenomenon of the northern lights. A great movie\, a little rumination on just how beautiful things can be when disparate paths in life intercept each other. Beautiful Mark Knoffler strains suffuse the film’s quieter moments\, while subtle performances and lovely dialogue provide the background. \n\n\nTickets: £5.00 \nTickets are available at the door or online at Ticketsource – Ardross Community Hall \nBYO food & drink. Refreshments available for a small donation.
