DESCRIPTION:The second Sunday of Advent invites us into a deeper quietness.After the first candle is lit — carrying its soft message of hope — the journey gently moves toward the theme of peace.\n\nNot the kind of peace that depends on everything being perfect\, but the gentler kind that grows slowly when we pause\, breathe\, and allow stillness to find us for a moment.\n\nYou are warmly welcome to join us at Ardross ARK on 7th December for our 2nd Advent Sunday.\n\nOur lovely volunteer Sheena will be there to welcome you\, look after the space\, and hold the gentle atmosphere of the afternoon.\n\nThe fire will be lit\, the doors open\, and the old church will offer its familiar sense of calm for anyone who would like to step inside and enjoy a slower moment.\n\nHot chocolate and mince pies will be available for anyone who would like a little treat while they’re here.\n\n The Second Advent Candle — A Moment of Peace\nThe second candle symbolises peace — a reminder that even in the busiest season\, we can create small pockets of calm for ourselves.\n\nPeace often arrives quietly:when we slow our breathing\,when we pause\,when we allow ourselves simply to be.\nYou’re welcome to light a candle during your visit — as a reflection\, a hope\, or simply a gentle pause in your day.\n\n A Thought to Carry Into December\nAs December gathers momentum around us\, the second Advent candle invites us to make a simple choice:\nWhere can I welcome a little more peace into my week?\nEven five quiet minutes can soften the whole rhythm of the days ahead.\n\n About the Gathering\nThere is no service and no formal programme.You are free to come and go as you wish.\nYou can:– Light a candle– Sit quietly– Reflect– Take a moment with your own thoughts– Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere\n\nEveryone who values kindness\, warmth\, and the chance to reconnect with themselves is warmly welcome.We would love to share this peaceful Advent moment with you.\n\nA small donation box will be available for anyone who wishes to support the upkeep of the ARK\, but there is absolutely no obligation.

SUMMARY:Ardross Community Cinema - Elf
DESCRIPTION:One Christmas Eve a long time ago\, a small baby crawled into Santa’s bag of toys during a stop at an orphanage. Undetected by Santa\, the child was accidentally whisked back to the North Pole. Once discovered\, the boy was quickly taken under the wing of Santa’s most trusted helpers and raised as an elf. But when he grew three sizes larger than everyone else in Santa’s workshop it became clear that Buddy would never truly fit into the elf world. So\, Buddy decided to set off for New York City in search of his roots and his real father. \nThere will be a Fun Activities Workshop for Children at 2pm before the film\, to include crafts\, make your own snacks and games. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
