DESCRIPTION:One Christmas Eve a long time ago\, a small baby crawled into Santa’s bag of toys during a stop at an orphanage. Undetected by Santa\, the child was accidentally whisked back to the North Pole. Once discovered\, the boy was quickly taken under the wing of Santa’s most trusted helpers and raised as an elf. But when he grew three sizes larger than everyone else in Santa’s workshop it became clear that Buddy would never truly fit into the elf world. So\, Buddy decided to set off for New York City in search of his roots and his real father. \nThere will be a Fun Activities Workshop for Children at 2pm before the film\, to include crafts\, make your own snacks and games. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

DESCRIPTION:We are really excited to announce that we have a special showing at the Ardross Hall – It’ll Never Work – a fun and engrossing documentary of the start to finish build of the UK’s FIRST FULLY ELECTRIC FISHING BOAT\, the conversion of a diesel fishing boat to solar power.\nOne fisherman’s conviction towards a carbon free future. A small film but a powerful one. This is the inspirational story of the successful making of a fishing boat designed to burn no diesel\, it has the lot – laughs\, misery\, tension\, motivation and more laughs as well as being a real people story rather than just another reality show. The young Argyll director\, Joe Osborn\, has\, with UHI Inverness training\, skillfully engrained the seasonal moods\, the strong local community spirit and the Argyll way of doing things into a compelling story of our times. Hans Unkles\, skipper and builder of the Lorna Jane\,\nand co-producer of the film\, will attend the film and hold a Q&A session afterward. A 1983 comedy-drama\, Bill Forsyth made an ecological tale full of charm and sensibility. He enjoys describing with a discreet and subtle humour the daily life of this Scottish village which seems to be virtually cut off from the outside world. Like the main protagonist\, a relaxed way of life that reigns in this fishing village gradually overcomes us\, as an invitation to the pleasure of the senses. Indeed\, Riegert enjoys the food he eats and the whisky he drinks: he is charmed by the beauty of the landscapes and what he finds by the seaside\, his collection of shells and especially the rare phenomenon of the northern lights. A great movie\, a little rumination on just how beautiful things can be when disparate paths in life intercept each other. A family friendly film\, this engaging stop-motion\, \nClaymation adventure tells the story of an American rooster who falls in love with a gorgeous hen on a British farm. ‘Wallace and Gromit’ progenitor Nick Park’s first big screen outing is an animated pastiche of ‘The Great Escape’. Life on Tweedy’s Chicken Farm is far from pleasant for the inmates; they are badly treated by Mr Tweedy and his domineering wife\, and kept alive only as long as they keep producing eggs. Ginger\, the hen’s (voiced by Julia Sawalha) various attempts at escape have failed due to the lethargy and downright incompetence of her fellow prisoners\, but when Rocky (Mel Gibson) – the famous Flying Rooster – crash lands in the farm\, she sees the chance she has been waiting for: Rocky can teach everyone how to fly\, and they can stage a mass break-out!
