At a recent meeting with Home Energy Scotland and Highland Council, the Ardross residents were commended on their positive response to this project. Out of 30 people who have so far registered an interest, 28 of those properties have had the Home Energy Scotland reports completed, with 2 declining to move forward.

Of the 28 properties we have identified at least 14 properties that will qualify for full funding in their own right – these will be project priority properties.

The next step is to collate all of the data and go back to residents to discuss a contractual survey being carried out. This will be more in-line with the Energy Performance Certificate requirements and will also look at ability to carry out the work and whether there are any restrictions/limitations. For example, solar panels can’t be fitted to a roof, if the roof itself needs replacing.

The ACC are planning an open day to discuss the Local Place Plan and also have representatives to discuss the Energy Efficiency project.

This project is not designed to not fix things overnight, it is a long term plan that will have various stages. It is not too late to get involved, if you haven’t already registered please do so by emailing ees@ardross.org
