Thank you to everyone for your efforts over the first Ardross Wildlife Weekend.

Birds – of the 85 species reported, 18 of these are Red Listed species and 28 are Amber Listed species. The most commonly spotted types are Blackbird, Chaffinch, Great Tit, Pheasant and Robin.

Insects & Reptiles there were 42 species reported, with some amazing knowledge shown from the spotters! It is encouraging to see so many bee sightings, ranging from Bumble, Buff Tailed, Calder, and Honey.

Mammals – there were 16 species reported, with Deer and Pipistrelle Bats featuring the most.

Butterflies – there were 8 types reported. Red Admiral and European Peacock featured the most.

All sightings have been reported via IRecord, these records are passed to the NBN Atlas which is the UK’s portal for exploring biodiversity data.
