A Community Council is a voluntary organization set up by statute by the Local Authority and run by local residents to act on behalf of its area. As the most local tier of elected representation, Community Councils play an important role in local democracy. 

Community Councils are comprised of people who care about their community and want to make it a better place to live

The current Community Council Members are:

The Ardross Primary Parent Council are an Associate Member.  

As well as representing the community to the local authority, Community Councils facilitate a wide range of activities which promote the well-being of their communities. They bring local people together to help make things happen, and many Community Councils protect and promote the identity of their community. They advise, petition, influence and advocate numerous causes and cases of concern on behalf of local communities. 

Ardross Community Council also administrates Community Benefit Funds to help with projects in Ardross Community Council area.

Can I attend a Community Council Meeting?

Yes, these are Public Meetings and everyone is welcome.

How often is there a Community Council Meeting?

The Ardross Community Council meets every second Monday of the month at 7:30pm in the Ardross Community Hall. Find the next meeting on the Events page.

Do I qualify for a funding application?

The Ardross Community Council receives various benefits from the wind farms in the area. These funds are available for projects and groups to use for the benefit of those living and working in the Ardross Community Council area. 

How do I apply for funding?

Please contact treasurer@ardross.org and you will be provided with a form for completion.
