Over recent weeks, I have received several reports of erratic driving along the golf course road. The vehicles involved have been identified as contractor vehicles, with a white pickup being mentioned on multiple occasions.
The incidents appear to occur most frequently during peak times, between 7:30–8:00 a.m. and 4:30–5:00 p.m. While there is no evidence that any of these vehicles are exceeding the legal speed limit, it is clear that some drivers are not taking due care in relation to the road conditions or the safety of our local community.
I have been in touch with the Site Manager at Strathrory, who has confirmed that these vehicles do not belong to their team. However, following their monthly meeting yesterday, the issue was raised with all contractors and the details of the vehicle were shared. The Site Manager has also reminded all workers of their responsibilities under the Highway Code and assured me that they will monitor for the vehicle in question and report any unsafe driving.
In the meantime, if anyone witnesses further incidents of careless or inconsiderate driving, please report these to Police Scotland via 101 or online using their form Online Reporting Form | Police Scotland. Providing as much detail as possible, including the time, date, vehicle description, and any registration numbers, will help ensure the matter is properly addressed.
Thank you to everyone who has brought this to our attention and for continuing to look out for one another’s safety.
